Snow Removal Financial Assistance Program

The Town of Caledon offers an Outdoor Maintenance Assistance Program to help eligible low-income older adults and residents with disabilities cover the cost of snow removal and other outdoor maintenance services. This support helps ensure safe access to driveways, walkways, and stairs during winter weather.

Who is eligible for the Snow Removal Financial Assistance Program?

  • Are 65 years of age or older and receiving the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS), OR
  • Are 75 years or older with proof of age and residency, OR

  • Are a low-income person with a disability receiving Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) benefits

  • Are responsible for snow removal on your own property

  • Do not live in a condominium, apartment, or similar dwelling where snow removal is handled by property management

  • Have no able-bodied persons under age 65 capable of doing the snow removal at the address

  • Agree to and sign the program waiver included with the application 

Do I need medical proof?

Only if you are under 65 and applying due to a permanent disability. A Canadian regulated health practitioner must complete the medical form, or you can provide an Accessible Parking Permit.

Can more than one person at the same address apply?

No. Only one application per household is allowed.

Can I apply if I live in a condo?

No. If your condominium corporation is responsible for snow removal, you do not qualify.

What does the grant cover?

It helps reimburse the cost of hiring a snow removal service provider for your driveway and sidewalks.

How much financial assistance can I receive?

Qualified residents can receive a maximum rebate of $500 per calendar year toward the cost of hiring snow removal or other outdoor maintenance services.

When is the deadline to apply?

Applications must be submitted by January 30, 2026. Reimbursement forms must be submitted by July 31, 2026.
